All use cases

Remove duplicates you can verify first.

Duplicate customers, repeated leads, and double-counted orders poison every import and report downstream. CSV Power Editor finds exact and fuzzy duplicates by the key columns you choose, shows you exactly which rows will go, and removes them with full undo — locally, with no uploads.

How to

Dedupe a file in five steps.

  1. 1

Open the CSV or Excel file

Encodings and delimiters are detected automatically, so the grid loads correctly even for messy exports.

  2. 2

    Normalize first (recommended)

Run Trim Spaces and Change Case so that ' [email protected]' and '[email protected]' count as the same value before matching.

  3. 3

    Choose a dedupe tool

Remove Duplicates matches rows on the key columns you pick. Fuzzy Duplicates catches near-matches like typos. Find Duplicate Cells highlights repeats without deleting anything.

  4. 4

    Preview the affected rows

Every Power Tool shows which rows match and how many will be removed before you apply. Nothing changes until you confirm.

  5. 5

    Apply and export

Apply in place, to a new sheet, or to a new workbook. Then save as CSV or XLSX. One keystroke (Cmd+Z) undoes the whole operation if needed.

Why it works

Four dedupe tools, one review loop.

Key-column matching

Match duplicates on email only, on name + company, or any combination — instead of whole-row equality that misses real-world repeats.

Fuzzy duplicates

Catch near-matches that exact comparison misses: typos, spacing differences, and inconsistent casing across CRM exports and lead lists.

Preview-first, undo always

See affected rows and counts before applying, and step back with a 50-level per-workbook undo stack covering every Power Tool result.

Audit without deleting

Find Duplicate Cells and Dedupe Within Cell let you inspect and clean repeated values inside columns without touching whole rows.

FAQ

Common questions.

Can I remove duplicates based on one column only, like email?

Yes. Remove Duplicates lets you choose the key columns used for matching, so two rows with the same email count as duplicates even when other columns differ.

Can it catch near-duplicates with typos?

Yes. The Fuzzy Duplicates tool finds close matches that exact comparison misses, like 'Jon Smith' vs 'John Smith' or values that differ by spacing.

Can I see what will be removed before it happens?

Yes. Every transformation shows a live preview of affected rows and change counts first; you apply only after reviewing.

What if I make a mistake?

Press Cmd+Z. The per-workbook undo stack holds 50 levels and covers cell edits, row changes, and every Power Tool result.

Does it work on Excel files too?

Yes. The same dedupe tools run on XLSX worksheets and CSV files alike, and you can export the cleaned result to either format.

Is it free?

The app is free to download with a 14-day full Pro trial. After the trial, free mode keeps files up to 300 rows fully editable, and a one-time $14.99 Lifetime Pro purchase unlocks larger files.
